  • OBJECTIVE:
    The “Ernest B. Messer Senior Citizen of the Year Award” presented by the North Carolina Senior Citizens Association (NCSCA) will honor a North Carolina senior citizen who is at least 60 years old.

  • DEADLINE:
    Please return your nomination form by Wednesday, May 12, 2005, to NCSCA, P.O. Box 34, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28302.

  • NOTIFICATION:
    Finalist and his/her nominator will be notified by mail.

    NOTE: Please be as brief and concise as possible, using information relevant to the questions on the attached nomination form. Limit your entry to a maximum of three (3) pages. The application is to be judged solely upon the information on this form. Since all forms will be copied for judge’s use, typing is preferred. Thank you.

    Please consider the following when submitting your nomination:

  • A senior citizen who unselfishly gives of him/herself to help build his/her community (i.e. consider volunteer activities with community centers, churches, etc.).
  • A senior citizen who has attained outstanding levels of personal achievement (i.e. consider specific contributions or any awards or honors he/she has won as a senior citizen).
  • A senior citizen who maintains a healthy, positive attitude toward aging and conveys this to others (i.e. consider his/her most noteworthy characteristic which qualifies him/her for this award).
